The beginning of our London Fashion Week experience started with a beautiful bang at the J. JS Lee AW14 show early on Friday morning.

Sasha Wilkins of Liberty London Girl scooped us up at after we collected our badges and we excitedly made our way to the first show of LFW. It felt as if a siren song of fashion was being played to us as we saw the models wear elements of some of our favorite things: heritage prints and boxy knits and all with a tone of South Korean fashion aesthetic (minimal, oversized, sleek). The incorporation of strong prints in monochrome palettes was incredibly exciting in its subtly. In addition, accessories such as the detachable polo knit mufflers definitely made us wish for a couple more months of cold.

With Sasha's help we were able to get backstage after the show and ask the friendly Jackie Lee some questions about her collection. We basically word-vomitted some fan girl adoration and then asked her if it was difficult to incorporate prints in her latest collection when she known for her 'cleanism' aesthetics. The amiable Lee let us know that while it was a challenge to design with prints, it was a exciting task that put her skills to the test. We have to say that her efforts were absolutely worthwhile her collection was our absolute favorite from LFW.
Right after the show, and basically high on life, we stumbled into Jackie Lee again right outside of the show space! A little more calm now, we explained how happy we were to meet her. She was absolutely friendly and even showed us her houndstooth nail art that harkened to her collection's themes. The nail artist apparently used her nails as the test for the models' completed nail looks. We love the idea of a clear base with an interesting design over it. And in that moment, we RF girls felt that our lives had pretty much come full circle as we are pretty sure we discussed perhaps starting a fashion blog together back in 2012 as we got tricked-out nails in the streets of Myeong-dong. We'd like to say thanks again to Sasha and Jackie Lee starting out our LFW experience on such a high!
Stay tuned for our recaps of our LFW experiences, street style snaps, and our own OOTDs coming up this week!
