2014 was the year that women became truly vocal and feminism became less of a dirty word, no longer being misappropriated to mean "man hating", which made the Design Museum's WOMEN, FASHION, POWER exhibition feel incredibly relevant. 

Using fashion, the exhibition charts the progress women have made in British society, over the last 150 years. From the Suffragette's hat, to the infamous blue suit worn by Margaret Thatcher when she was elected leader of the Tory Party in 1975, the exhibition shows how fashion is far from trivial and is a positive treasure trove of historical style moments.
